Good morning everyone Can I find details of an inquest anywhere ? I have Philip Hackett died London Hospital 17 May 1865 of a Fractured Skull. Inquest held on 19 May 1865. We would really like to know what happened to Philip to cause his death. Thanks, Jeanne

I certainly got some inquest papers. The death happened in Birmingham and I got them from the city archives. Contact your local records office to find out where they me be kept. It was a fascinating read.

A lot of inquest reports were destroyed but if you can't find them in the RO have a look in the local papers. They were often reported almost word for word. Gwynne
