I have just had a nosey on lds site, found my grandfather with his family, thought I would have a look at next households, well, about 5 houses along, a familiar name pops up, one of the daughters of the family appears to have been a witness at my nans wedding. jean |

Witnesses are often very interesting. I got a marriage cert for my gt grandfather. Two of the witnesses were his and his wife's youngest sisters, who were about the same age. I thought they were probably bridesmaids. The only male witness wasn't a family member, but his name rang a bell - he had been staying with my gt grandfather in 1881 when they were both schoolboys. I guess he was a childhood friend who was best man. nell |
