Thanks for all ideas. Getting excited but nervous as not sure how my aunt will take it. I think she will be pleased. She never really knew her father and I have got pictures of him as a young boy with his brothers and family. Thanks again. Pam.

Perhaps you would be best to try and print it off if it isnt too big!. I recently showed my nan the family tree and it was alot easier for her to understand who was who with the tree in her hands.

Pamela, a GEDCOM is a way of moving your Family tree to a diffrant program and showing it;; Unless your aunt has a computer you would not be able to show her a Gedcom;; For instance you have your tree on here, using a Gedcom you could move it to FTM or Legacy or other similar program, to view it ;; Not really explained very good but that is basic drift of it;; Babs

I have been researching family for 2 years in the hope that in August I can take what I have found and show my aunt for her 80th birthday. She knows nothing about the family at all, only what she remembers as a young child as her father left home in 1931. I need to be able to put into some form that she will be able to read. What is a Gedcom and what does it do please. Sorry if sound thick but I have just been researching lots and not too worried about making the tree up but have added quite a few names now to one on Genes. I have lots of certificates for her and photos but would like to be able to give her a tree to be able to understand. Thank you for advice and all the help I have received. Couldn't have got where I am without you. Pam.
