Dear all, Can you offer any help please? I'm trying to find evidence (and dates) of a William Adams travelling to and from St Helena. He was born in roughly 1845 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. I think I have him in the 1851, 61 and maybe 71 census. I know that in 1873 he married a Mary Jane Chaslett at a Garrison in St Helena. He was a Gunner R.A. He gave birth to a Stammers William Adams in December that year, also in St Helena. He was back in Cheltenham, England by 1881 census, as I have found him with his wife and son. Is there anyway that I can track his movements to and from St Helena? Thanks for any help! Paul |

His army record should be at Kew (the National Archives) Merry |

Thanks Merry. Does this mean a trip straight away to Kew please, or can I check anything on the internet first? Can anyone from 'the morning crew' help? Paul |

I think his dates are wrong for finding anything online at TNA (30 years earlier or 50 years later and you might have found something on their online catalogue). You need to contact ''Heather Positive Thinker'' as she knows a good researcher (professional) who really knows his way around the army stuff at Kew (if you can't get there yourself!)......I forget his name, but I have seen that several people have recommended him!
