I can't find them anywhere. I have been searching for years for my gt grandma's birth and family. The names seem to follow a pattern and now I feel they must be from Scotland. BUT not sure, infact not many details. Isabella Alice Austin Williamson age 22 married Oliver Rimmer in August 1901 in Lancaster. Stated her father was Charles Austin Williamson and witness was Sarah Maggie Williamson. Any ideas anyone ? Cheers Joan

Have you already tried this one? Name: Isabella Alice Williamson Year of Registration: 1879 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Skipton County: West Riding Of Yorkshire Volume: 9a Page: 30 ( The age fits and she has at least two of the names listed.

Hi Joan, You could try the Scotlands People website www(.)scotlandspeople(.)gov(.)uk and do a birth search for Isabella, only problem is they charge you to do this. I did a search and there is 25 matches born between 1878 and 1880, you need to pay to go any further! If you knew the area it would make it easier. Do you know the mother's name by any chance?

Re the Witness on marriage cert (Sarah Maggie Williamson) - there are these two: Sarah Margaret Williamson 1883 Jan-Feb-Mar Wharfedale West Riding Of Yorkshire, West Yorkshire View Record Sarah Margaret Williamson 1890 Jul-Aug-Sep Gateshead Co. Durham, Tyne And Wear Again, you can see Yorkshire crops up...

Thanks Athena and Lynne. Athena were the Sarah Margaret refs for birth ? If so I suppose the Yorkshire one is worth following for her and the Skipton one for Isabella. BUT I wonder where the Austin comes from ? Joan

Forget that long message I posted!! Don't you think this death must surely be a sibling of your Isabella? (and if not then it could even refer to her father, with the age mis-entered on the GRO index - it does happen!) Name: Charles Austin Williamson Birth Date: abt 1881 Year of Registration: 1898 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun Age at death: 17 District: Lancaster County: Lancashire Volume: 8e Page: 492 Merry

Merry The 'long list' you found is the family I have been following for ages. BUT, where is dad charles ? Too many coincidences. Says born Rishton, I live there. Family moved to Church in next village. Marriage in Skerton, Lancaster about 35 miles away . Definite MC. Oh Blast, I'm confused and confuddled.

Merry, The Williamson family from Scotland in Lancashire which I thought was mine, I have researched and find that the middle names of almost all the children is MURRAY. The Charles Austin Williamson death you found would fit with the area Isabella married. Yorkshire, Lancashire and now Scotland......this could be the war of the roses and thistle all over again if I don't find gt grandma !!!! Thanks for your interest, Joan

Update; Family transcribed as AUSTIN / AUSTIA on the 1881 1891 and 1901 census. Droppd the name of Williamson for the emunerators but picked it up again for the registrations of marriages and births. Thanks everyone for your input and guidance. Yes, born in Skipton area and found in Lancaster. Joan (now very pleased)
