The 1914-1918 site that Mary listed is excellent for the medal cards. It shows diffenerent type and explains what each part means. It also has pictures and explanations of the 3 medals that Ralph mentioned, well worth a look. Lynn |

Hi Pinkella, Starting from the top Victory - the Victory Medal (awarded towards end of WW1) British - British War Medal (anyone serving in WW1) Star - this will either be '14 Star' or '15 star' or in rare case both the 14 star was awarded to those serving in France before 11 Nov 1914 the 15 Star was for those serving in france after Nov 1914 Hope that helps Regards Ralph |

I have my Great Uncle's medal card on PDF from the National Archives site, but I can't make out what medals were awarded!! Can anyone offer any help in deciphering what medals he was awarded? He served and died in WW1 |
