If I wanted to find Samford Street in Marylebone, Middlesex Is there an easy way or do i have to trawl through all the pages in each district. I hope this makes sense? Yvonne |

Hi Ozbird Its off a marriage cert. Marriage took place in the Parish of St. Marylebone at Trinity Church. I have the residence at time of marriage Samford Street for Ann Cook with father John occ: plaisterer (thats the exact spelling) this was on 12th Oct 1840 I have been trawling through all the John's (such a common name almost as bad as ann cook) and haven't found one yet at samford street or one who was a plaisterer. I was hoping to find the parents at this address. I think i will have to give up now as eyes are closing - will try again tomorrow Thanks for the reply Nite Yvonne |

1. Choose 1841 census for your search. 2. Scroll down and you will find a list of counties. 3. Select Middlesex. 4. It will then show you the enumeration districts. 5. If you click on the 'view enumeration district' bit, you will find a sheet telling you what areas were covered. This is usually written in a horrid scrawl like much of the census, but hopefully you should be able to find Samford Street. Make a note of whereabouts it is in the district - ie if it says 'Blogg Street, all of Blogg Lane, Samford Street, High Street' when you get to the right district you can quickly go past Blogg Street to the pages afterwards. 6. You can then click on the left hand icon on the enumeration district list to go straight to that part of the census and go through the pages. nell |

This page http://content.ancestry*co.uk/Browse/list.aspx?dbid=8978&path=Middlesex.St+Marylebone has this info: 1841 England Census Please choose a sub-registration district in St Marylebone: All Souls and Trinity Cavendish Square Christchurch Rectory St John St Mary If As you say the church the marriage took place in was Trinity, I looked at the first entry, All Souls and Trinity. There are 16 districts, on page http://content.ancestry*co.uk/Browse/list.aspx?dbid=8978&path=Middlesex.St+Marylebone.All+Souls+and+Trinity plus one for the hospital. nell |
