Are you looking for 1800s or 1900s? What other info are you looking for? And what else do you have?

This is her death record - index entry, anyway... ame: Agnes Jane Hodgkiss Birth Date: 20 Jun 1932 Death Registration Month/Year: Dec 1991 Age at death (estimated): 59 Registration District: North Shropshire Inferred County: Shropshire Volume: 30 Page: 103 Christine PS - just re-read your message and spotted that you had the death record already. Ah well!

If he died after 1983, then he'd have to be one of these... Edward Joseph Hodgkiss 21 Nov 1915 Oct 1992 76 Ashbourne Derbyshire, Staffordshire Joseph Edward Hodgkiss 15 May 1918 Oct 1998 80 Bromsgrove Worcestershire but you seem very confident of the 1925 birth year? Christine

If you reckon the 1925 date is correct, do you have any idea of the death-date? (I'm assuming that he is dead, of course, which may not be correct?). Presumably it can't be later than 1983, and not earlier than.......? Christine my message crossed with yours. clearly this is not a relevant avenue!

At least those names aren't desperately common. You could do some GRO index-trawling without putting your eyesight too much at risk! It's much more fun tracking it down for yourself - at least that's my experience. (Which is why I quite enjoy other people's puzzles - the thrill of the chase!) Christine
