Help with occupation please

I wonder if you could help with the occupation for Lydia Payton born Dundry Somerset 1853. I have fond her on the 1891 census. Do you tink it is sextoness and if so what does a sextoness do?

Sexton looks after the church -presumably a lady in this case. jay

Hi Annie, not checked the cenus but if it is Sextoness, this is the definition on the on-line dictionary, Sex´ton`ess n. 1. A female sexton; a sexton's wife. Alan
