For Scottish births pre-1837, ScotlandsPeople has online parish records. No guarantee you'll find who you're looking for, but it's a first step. |

Civil registration only started in 1837,so you won't find GRO refs prior to Q3 1837.You have to check the parish records. But even so,births post 1837 were often not registered prior to 1875 ish,when the regulations were tightened up. The IGI/Family search would be a starting point for pre 1837 births. Glen |

I can find some peeps on the census years but I can't find a birth for them was this normal for years 1825 and 1838? Sue |
