I'm trying to find my GG Grnadfathers brother William (Bill) Brailey of Cornwall on the war graves site with no luck. He was sent to the front after committing bigomy, he was given the choice go to the front or be charged he chose the former & was killed in action. My nan believes he was in the Candian Scotch guards.Any help gratefully recieved.

They might have given him an alias, though he should be listed under both names if that's the case......... Merry

Thank you Merry thats him!! His story was that he moved to Canada, married & had children, he then left her & moved back to Cornwall where he forgot he was already married!! He married a local girl but of course the marriage was not legal & thats why the wife is the Canadian one. Sorry have to say he sort of deserved his fate really I mean what a thing to do!
