help required on searching for marriages...

Well in your tree they have the right surname at the moment - the maiden name is what you should be showing for them. Unless they have really unusual names it is going to be difficult to decide if a marriage is them without buying the cert. |

I don't know how you would find these marriages other than trawl through the complete marriage indexes on Ancestry (they are free to search) year by year and qtr. by qtr. However if it is just to put their name on your tree, then women should always be added with their maiden name anyway. Kath. x |

i dont know if anyone else has this problem but i have alot of women on my tree like siblings to grt etc grandparents. the thing is i would like to know f they got married so can put right surname in not thier maiden name. i have alot of these and dont really know how i can find if these women got married without ordering a marriage certificate, some are even born beofre 1837 so i prob would ot be able to get one even if i knew what to look for. anyone have any tips and ideas on how to find this almost impossible info out? alot of thanks laura x |
