Yay!!!!!!!!! Finally got rid of it, mainly through Joan's step-by-step guide, but I would like to thank you ALL so much for your time and patience with this old fogey who ain't too clever with all these new-fangled contraptions. I still can't understand why this word 'tools' isn't on the above panel, but not to worry as I shall get our daughter to check it out next time she is over here. My grateful thanks once again to one and all............ Kind regards, Chris

Thank you so much for the firefox link. My lines suddenly came back (husband tinkering with the puter) and I couldn't get rid of them . Sorted now, looks much better Elaine

You're not alone, I'm using Firefox and have TOOLS but no Internet Options choice.

I swear it must have been there before these computer buffs in town tinkered around with this contraption - just don't know where to find it now! Gotta be there somewhere, surely............... Chris

Hi Reg, Nope, I haven't got 'tools' displayed in the stripe you're telling me. On the very top is AOL (family tree etc.,). On the next stripe I have got the AOL logo, then 'file', 'edit', 'email', community', 'services', 'safety', 'window', 'keyboard', 'sign off', and then 'help'. I have clicked on each of these words, and can see nowt that tells me 'tools'. Oh Gawd, what a Dimbo I must appear! Chris

Look at the top of your computer screen...........does it have a blue stripe with the words Family Tree. Genealogy.Ancestor.....etc? Just under that you should have the following File Edit View Favorites TOOLS Help Just click on the word 'tools' with your mouse, and follow Kat's suggestions.............. Reg

Hi Kat, You must think I'm a right thicko - I'm damned if I can see 'Tools' below in the blue stripe. I have clicked on all of 'em to see what is what, and then skedaddled - talk about nervous..............! Chris

Hi Kat, Sorry to sound so dumb, but where on earth are the 'tools' box? I am scared to death of messing up, in case this contraption decides to roll over and play dead again! Chris

Hi, I know somebody, a good while ago, gave a tip on how to delete all the underlining on the message boards - which I did without any bother. My 'pooter was very poorly a couple of weeks ago, which has now been fixed, but of course everything has to be re-installed. Is there some kind soul who could tell me again how to get rid of these underlines, as it is making my eyes jump! Preferably in simplistic terms please, as I am no 'pooter buff.......... Many thanks, Chris
