There is no straightforward online index of divorces....however, there are ways to find out a little information. A lot depends on when (roughly) the divorce took place as to what you might discover. Did you have a particular time frame in mind? Merry |

That's a big space of time!! If the divorce was at the start of that time frame then the date of the decree absolute may be in The Times Newspaper archive. If the surname is unusual it may be possible to pick it out (often the surname is all you get!)....but if it's a ''regular'' sort of name then there might be several. For the later years you would need to apply to: The Principal Registry of the Family Division Decree Absolute Search Section First Avenue House 42-49 High Holborn London WC1V 6NP But they charge for either each 5 or 10 years search they do.....(I forget if it's 5 or 10) and it would cost you a lot.......(think it's £20 per search) Merry |
