Can anyone help me please i got a birth cert of my grandad birth it says his mothers name is maggie agnes mary Williams Maiden name spencer she was born rotherhithe i think in 1867ish can anyone see her birth i have been looking and looking but can not find her. thank you Rosex |

Rosie, have you found her on the census? If so, it should give a rough year of birth and place of birth. |

Heather yes on the 1901 census it says 1867 or 69 birth place rotherhithe but i cant find her anywhere Rosex |

No, it wouldnt mean she was married before as there would be two surnames not just the one. What a conundrum. Ive tried looking for a Margaret to no avail. If she was born 1867or 69 then you may want to spend a bit of dosh on familyrelatives.org - it is name searchable for 1866-1920 and even by area and date. ONLY put one first name in though otherwise it brings up zilch results. Cant find them 1891 either. What is dads job? He is moving about a bit - he isnt a soldier or a railway worker is he? Tried Wales because of the name - no sign. |

on one of the census it says he is single and a private i have found a bit about the father but its her i cant find anything at all thanks peeps i will keep searching Rosex |

So he was a soldier? Have you thought he may have been serving in Ireland or somewhere when the census were taken? |

have you tried tracing this one ? 1881 Margaret Spencer abt 1867 Bermondsey, Surrey, England Daughter Bermondsey Surrey UPDATE - no ignore this one - she is actually Margaret Knight - mistranscribed on the 1881 as Spencer!! |
