hiya Alter, Nice to see you Back with us. dont want to nit pick, but it might help so not to confuse people, beta images dont exist anymore, is called 'complete index' now, perhaps this in title as well will hopefully not confuse people even more??? or bracket old title, sorry to be a pain, but it seems logical to me, Julie

This happens alot when there is an extra entry added at the bottom of the page..... eg page begins Smith, Alfred and ends Smith, David You are looking for a Smith Daphne, so she should be on that page.....but........A GRO clerk has handwritten in an entry for Smith, Clifford at the bottom of the column that previously ended with Smith, David So...................................Ancestry come along and do their stuff.....they see the page as beginning with Smith, Alfred and ending with Smith, Clifford thereby making the page vanish if you request a lookup for Smith, Daphne or David or Diane or Craig or Cuthbert! I have often found the search engine misses out the odd quarter or two when a surname is asked for over say a few years....I have checked later and found that you can overcome this by changing the surname in the box to a more common one that precedes it or has the same first few letters- for example I have been researching the surname Zinges, and its been ignored on a few quarters ,but if i enter Young, and move up a page by clicking on the green arrow I get it.
