On a census return if someones birth place is given just as 'Scotland', how do you find out where in Scotland.............or don't you??

The householders form didn't ask ''where'' in another country you were born.....if the information was offered there was probably a 50:50 chance of the enumerator bothering to write it down! How many census records have you found the person on? Merry
