Have you a single reference, or lots? Is the person living in Suffolk at the time, or another county? (If they were living in Essex, then it probably is Whixoe) Do they get other details wrong? Place names are notoriously misspelt, so Nell is more likely to be right, but it's worth keeping an open mind and looking in both places. |
