You see, it helps being a simple soul sometimes. Glad you found them, what areas did they turn up in - can that help you?

Heather............... Don't believe it.....FOUND some! The Cornish names are there, even recognise family Christian names too............only problem I have now is rounding them all up and trying to discover where they fit in..............IF they fit in. Still, got something more to work with now.........brilliant. A great big thankyou! Jen

Just by luck I managed to find one of mine on IGI, by typing in the mothers maiden name as a first name, there are quite a few with the first name Cornish so might be worth a try. Caroline

Already done Heather, Got some off IGI but most off Hugh Wallis, think they've been rotated, because only got the bulk of them recently, taking me back another generation............what joy! Come to a standstill again now though.......... :0(( Jen

Have a trawl on IGI for peeps with that surname to see if anything comes up.

What I really meant to say was - the connection can go so far back that everyone has forgotten why the name is traditionally used in their family. This particular lot always named first son Henshaw and first daughter Parnall - oh joy!! OC

I have the name Henshaw, as a first name, and then as a middle name in the 19th and 20th century. So far, I have got back to 1556 with the Henshaw connection! OC

What area are they living in? I would have thought it must be from one of the earlier lines.

the same middle name of CORNISH keeps popping up on the male line, for about three or four generations........................ So far I have discovered it is not linked to any of the female members ie, Mother's maiden names passed along.............I have all their maiden names......................... Can this tradition go back for more generations than this? And is it likely to be connected to a Maternal member somewhere along the line? Jen
