Of all the 4 x great grandfathers I've traced, 6 are called John and 2 are called William. No other names. 3 x great grandfathers: 4 Johns 4 Williams 2 Roberts 1 Joseph 1 Richard 1 Daniel 2 x great grandfathers 3 williams 2 Johns 1 Emmet 1 James great grandfathers 2 Johns 1 thomas 1 Charles grandfathers Angus Jeuel A more interesting variety of names, the closer the generations get to me. Convinced that my gt X 16 grandfathers will be all Williams or all Johns!

I have noticed this on my tree the father of the child always passed his name down to his eldest son. Also the name Vincent has been passed down for many generations and both my husband and son have it as a middle name. Strange isn't it. Jen
