Thanks Kate, you know a couple of months ago I would have accepted their word for it, however I am now like a rottweiller with a bone!! I will not give up without a fight! Fuzzy x

Merry, I think that all hope is lost once you embark on this crazy tree building lark..... you were probably a perfectly good looker (LOL) before you started all this!! Fuzz x

Sue......we must be related.....do you have object blindness???? I do.....if I need a pair of scissors and I open the draw to get some, I can't recognise what they are unless I make a snipping motion with my fingers! and the same goes for a knife....i have to make a sawing motion before I know what a knife is! But I can find peeps on the census OK!! lol Do you think there's any hope? Merry

My Husband can't understand why I enjoy this Genealogy so much....I'm dreadful at looking for things in the home, if it doesn't jump and bite me, it's not there. I've told him, I never was a good looker LOL

Heather, I didn't think of that! I can imagine the office over run with spotty teenagers and if they look for things as well as my teenager.... Fuzz x..

Well, I dare say they have an awful lot of student temps working there now with absolutely no interest in family history but just earning holiday money - which you cant blame them for -so I guess we need to be vigilant, as you say Fuzz and not take their word for it.

Yes, they once told me they couldn't find a birth in St George in the East and I pointed out I'd specified St George Southwark! Still waiting for the certs they SAID they'd send on 28 June!!! nell

Some of you may remember that I posted a thread a few days ago saying that I had an E-Mail advising me that they had not produced a certificate as they couldn't find the person at the ref I had provided. I have just been on the phone to a very apologetic man from the GRO saying that they had looked again and now found it.......where I told them it was the first time......good job I didn't give up.....another lesson learnt!!!
