I had a school friend who was the youngest of 10 and the 2nd oldest, was the only boy. By the time my friend was born, he had already moved out and she has a niece only a couple of years younger than her! Lynn

Years ago (but after 1991) I read a thing in the paper (Mail) about a 34 year old couple in the UK - can't remember where - that already had 17 children!! - there were no multiple births & they were all still living - the paper gave details of all the tons of bread & milk etc that they got through in a week. They had 2 or 3 sittings at mealtimes & lived in 3 terraced council houses knocked together. I think the dad was a plumber or something in the building trade. The mum just said she loved children & being pregnant - I guess you'd have to!! My G*d!! - & I sometimes feel overwhelmed with 3!! Sarah :-)

Michael, With that many kids she probably needs some kind of sponsorship deal. Perhaps the next one will be named Red Bull or McLaren! Rose

I feel really, really sorry for the one called Porsche-Mercedes. And almost as sorry for the lone male who has to live with 12 sisters! Most extreme example I've come across is one family who had four daughters before the first son.

My s-i-l is expecting her 4th child. The first 3 were boys and the doctor told her there's an 80% it will be another boy because the first 3 were. Rose

Remove the * http://news.bbc.*co.uk/1/hi/england/dorset/5154748.stm What I find amazing is that she only has 1 boy so far. Does anyone else have large families of predominately one sex in their tree? My great grandfather had 6 siblings and only one was a sister. Rose
