can anyone tell me how to find my husbands father,all iknow is that his name was John Alfred Parish and i have found out that he was married in stepney in 1930,but i dont know his birth date or anything else about him,help please.Bonnie |

Your husbands birth certificate is the place to start - it will give dads name, his occupation,mums maiden name and where they were living when your husband was born (I take it they were married at the time?). You can then get the marriage cert for the name and occupation of HIS father and the wifes and progress backwards using the 1901 census to start with. When you say looking for him, you mean his ancestry? |

If you order his marriage cert it will give his age at the time of the marriage and also his father's name and their occupations. You should be able to find his birth cert from that, and possibly his father on 1901 census. nell |
