LOL - well spotted Mary! I never noticed that.

Hmm... yes, why, I wonder? Is Tom Tom still on Genes even?

This thread is nearly two years old. Why has it been resuscitated?

Hi Tom Tom -

The IGI does cover that period.

I have found two possible baptisms for your Major Ensor:

MAJOR ENSOR
Christened 12 May 1770 Holy Trinity, Coventry, Warwickshire

Father: William Ensor
Mother: Elizabeth

or

MAJOR ENSER
Christened: 30 Nov 1774 St Andrew, Rugby, Warwickshire

Father: William
Mother: Ann

Regards

Athena

Don’t discount him because of his age, my 4x gt granddad had 1 child with his first wife and when she died when he was in his late 60’s married someone in her 20’s he had his last child at 73!

Have you noticed, on the 1841 census page there is also a Goode family and the Kimberley family.

Maria Ensor (Elizabeth's sister) m William Kimberley 17 Feb 1828 Holy Trunity Coventry.

Plus another Ensor family, Frederick and Mary, next door to Major.

I was just looking at the figures - I guess it is possible that he is her Grandad, but will need to look at the parish records to see if I find anything (as in who her mother was)

He'd be a bit elderly to be her dad - in his 50s, but I guess its possible. At any rate I feel there's some connection. Good luck and I hope you get more info soon. nell

I would apreciate your views and opinions on this please... I have a marriage cert for Elizabeth ENSOR to Thomas Goode on 14 August 1849. Her age is given as 26, and along with subsequent censii I know she c1823 in Keresley, Warwickshire. Her Father is given as Mager Ensor, a labourer, but I have had no look finding any info on him. The IGI don;t cover that time period unfortunately. However, I have just found this family on the 1841: - View Record Elizabeth Ewer abt 1781 Warwickshire, England St Michael Warwickshire View Record Major Ewer abt 1771 Warwickshire, England St Michael Warwickshire The image looks like Ensor, and the place is the hamlet of Keresley, so just wondered whether people thought this could be her Dad - I will obviously have to try and search for a baptism for her......
