I see what you mean. But he was a lowly bonnet blocker When would he have served as a Hussar???? Oh just noticed his son is living next door. |

LOL!!!!!! Yes, I think it might be Hussars, or it might be something else! I looked at the following person, who had an occupation but was only 7 years of age......I thought the occ might be the rest of Henry's - ie taking two lines.....I had to look at it several times before I saw it said, ''Straw hat sewer''!!! LOL Merry |

It's not Navy, with one too many squiggles, is it?? Obviously, Hussars and Navy could easily be mistaken for each other!!! Merry |

No good I cannot agree or disagree My eyes have had it. I will report the image before I close it down. By the way Helen and Merry. I spent an hour and a half on the phone tonight listening to the ramblings of the only living Grandaughter of Charles Clifton remember him????? Well in the midst of it all she was talking about an Auntie Olive she knew there was a connection to Charles but not sure what! so I thought OK have a look. Cut a long story short she tracks back to the Henry above via a step brother of Charles born Studham. All the Cliftons shown on the naff image are step relatives to Charles. Have I found the right one at last???? Still cannot find a marriage to confirm his father which is a pain, anyway Thankyou all for looking. |

Just received a PM from James. Apparently Family search show army??? Any suggestions as to when he may have served and how he would have earned a pension?? given that from 1841 census he maintains the same occupation. Many thanks |
