I've been looking for my St Ives lot on the 71 census for months! I found them tonight... St Ives had been mistranscribed as St Nees!! Mind you, the enumerator did write with a flourish lol. So dont give up there's still hope. Hope you find what you're looking for. PS. Have got a cup of tea here for you, to go with the sympathy :) Bex |

So you don't want help, just sympathy! Oh dear, there there. I have a mystery man who is living in the same area in 1871 and 1891 but disappears in 1881, despite me doing a street search for him! I also have mystery brothers who disappear after 1871. One of them is mentioned as alive in a will in 1925 but goodness knows where he was! Can't find a death for the one who wasn't named. nell |

Many have tried, one i can understand, being a master mariner he is missing through 3 census returns. it just seems odd that the 71 seems to swallow the rest. Seriously though, several talented people have tried and failed on several occassions. I can't even say for sure where they would be as two lines moved between census returns. Just venting my frustrations again! Glen |
