Joseanne Register offices won't be any cheaper than the GRO. You shouldn't pay more than £7 for a certificate anywhere if you have the reference. Kath. x

or you could try the local registry office for the ones you want. I've found them a lot quicker and cheaper, and if they think it isn't the one you want they tell you, or thats my experience. but I'm having to use the GRO for my London ancestors as I haven't found any London registry offices that have them.

Go to the gro website and you can orfer certs online. If you quote the ref nombers (district, vol etc) the cost is £7 per cert. Alternatively you can order certs through the register office local to the event,(with the exception of some of the London offices). In that instance you don't quote the ref number, but you need to quote a guide as to when the event took place.Cost is £7 plus postage, and usually quicker than the GRO. Glen

Go to the GRO site here:- http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ then click on 'order a certificate online now' Make sure that when you are asked 'Is the full GRO reference known?' that you check the 'yes' box. If you leave it on 'no' it will cost you more. You shouldn't pay more than £7 for a certificate. Kath. x
