Joseanne I've instances of children with names that don't add up - sometimes they are using a middle name on the census. My best one is a Joseph who turned into a Mary in the next census!!! nell

Thanks Nell, so it looks like there wasn't another family in 1901 with those names. So I think the one I found on the 1891 freecen could be the same as mine as the ages are consistent although the birth reg for William & Minnie are 1882 & 1884. And that would explain why I can't find Walter or Annie on the bmd's.

Only one William Hopkins 1901 is the chap you have and his son, the others in Brighton aren't the right ages. nell

On the 1901census I have at 10 Edinburgh Rd Brighton the names William HOPKINS 44y born Brighton, Baker, Confectioner Mary 46y born Brighton, wife Walter 17y born Brighton, son Annie 15y born Brighton, dau on the 1891census I have at 3 St Mary Magdalene St Brighton the names William HOPKINS 35y Baker Mary Ann 39y wife Florence 10y daughter Willie P 7y son Minnie 5y daughter on the 1881census at 35 Edward St Brighton I have William HOPKINS 27y Baker Mary 29y wife Florence 1y dau I know the 1901 & 1881 ones are right by the addresses, they turn up on birth and marriage certs I haven’t found Walter or Annie on the freebmd site and I’ve had someone contact me who has their names as William & Minnie and I’ve found them under those names on freebmd but 2 years older. Possibly this is the same family. Please can someone look up to see if there is another Hopkins family in Brighton with these names.
