Rosie How much do they charge to order by phone? Isn't it more expensive than ordering online? Margaret |

Rosie I dont think an extra £1.50 a cert is worth it. They are expensive enough as it is. I think I wouild rather wait longer. Margaret |

Rosie I think you will find that giving your bank details over the phone is less secure than the net. I have learnt to be patient. These births, marriages and deaths happened long ago, they aint going anywhere and I am not going to pay over the odds to find out either. Margaret |

I would definately be interested in ordering certificates over the phone if it means they get to me quicker. Is the phone number on the website ? |

aimee if you go to the GRO website and order as if you were going to do it online then click contact us and the phone number comes up . if your impatient like me then its worth a go good luck Rosex |

Thank you Rosie. I am impatient!!! I hate waiting by the letterbox for certificates when they are late. The extra £1 or so is a small price to pay to stop me from getting frustrated. Thanks again. |

I order mine from the relevant local registry office. Not so high tech, but qucker! I send separate cheques for each cert, and one stamped addressed envelope. I get them back within a week 2nd post both ways. I also find the local registry offices very helpful. I have used a variety of offices and have the same quick reponse. Recently, the dep superintendant registrar advised me of a death of a daughter of the person whose death cert I had ordered. Anne |
