Thanks for looking Zoe and Mog. Yes the writing is really thick - even worse at the top of the page than my bit. It probably is Auctioneer but that extra loop before the e is throwing me off as well. |

I think it does say auctioneer. I don't think the first letter is M as M is written quite differently on the rest of the page. |

actually I *did* think about auctioneer when I looked at it - but thought that towards the end of teh word looks like an S so I discounted it BUT - looking at it again he could have just looped up a bit far from the N to the first E I've just found a letter A to compare it to (Anglesey in the birthplaces) and it's looking more like an A than the M I originally thought |

I can't really make it out I think it starts with an M and ends with er That enumerator definitely needed some blotting paper - that writing is SO thick |

First, the name's been mistranscribed as Heaberg (should be Healing) but this is understandable as the writing's not very clear. Do you think the occupation could say Auctioneer? Although it doesn't really look like that word this would make sense as he was an (out of work) Auctioneer in 1861. But by 1891 he was a Mariner and by 1901 a Freight Clerk. Details: Name: George Heaberg Age: 40 Estimated birth year: abt 1831 Relation: Head Household: View other family members Gender: Male Where born: Liverpool, Lancashire, England Civil Parish: West Derby Ecclesiastical parish: St Mary Town: Liverpool County/Island: Lancashire Country: England Street address: Occupation: Condition as to marriage: Disability: View image Source information: RG10/3843 Registration district: West Derby Sub-registration district: West Derby ED, institution, or vessel: 26 Folio: 80 Page: 31 (click to see others on page) Household schedule number: 136 GSU Number: 841925 |
