Head of household is Sarah McFarlane aged 40 and as far as I can tell, occupation looks like 'mx' though it could perhaps be 'Mn' for 'monthy nurse', a woman who attended mother and baby in the first month after the baby's birth. Then its Ellen, George whose occupation is MS (male servant) Henry Charles Sarah William |

thanks so much , this Ellen was supposed to have been the McFarlane Biscuit Heiress , who ran away to marry a relative of mine was hoping to see if the census gave any clues to that. |

I don't think 'biscuit heiress' is a recognised occupation on the census, lol!!! |

Valerie didnt want to put a dampner on your heiress but i looked on old occupations just to see if MX or Mk was on there, there was a mangle keeper which was a woman that hired out her mangle for a small charge amoung the poorer class of women in the community or MN which was monthly nurse also known as confinement nurse or even have the initials S M S (subsidery medical services) not a doctor but trained in some way hope this may help |
