Hi Jen, Could not find the family in 1841 but found them in 1851 census did not see the daughters name there though. Is there anything you wanted to know about them?

Reg thanks for that, I too found that last one, where she's with I think, a grandmother, and that's thrown me, as I have her wedding cert and it gives her fathers name as Thomas with the surname spelt as Haers, although I know this can be a misspelling of the name. Frances married in Bristol and I'm sure was probably living there when she did. The only family with the father's name as Thomas I could find was on the 1851, which would fit the area. I don't understand the set up of the 1841 family group? Still, I do appreciate you taking the time Reg. Thanks again, Jen

Hi Amanda, Yes, I'm simply (though it's not proving so simple) trying to find her true family, parents, any siblings etc. She was my great grandmother and married my great grandfather Samuel Cornish Brandon in Bristol in 1842. Jen

The 1841's I posted were three families in Shipham which included a Thomas..............looking at the census, it seems that the village was pretty well populated with Hares. Not rabbits, at least...lol! Reg

That's exactly my problem Reg lol! And as I'm unsure of the correct spelling, it makes it almost impossible to know where to look. All I do know is that the name has been spelt HAERS on census' and on the wedding certificate! I can't claim any other family members for her, apart from knowing her father was called Thomas. Jen

As an afterthought, I have looked at local maps and seen that Shipham is a mere stones throw away from Bristol, so it could be quite likely I suppose that the rest of her family never left Shipham...............just a matter of knowing which was her family, Gonna be a tough one this! Jen
