Hi doing some look ups for a friend and having trouble finding this person on any other census. Do you think the name has been transcribed wrong it clearly states daughter, female But I thought Perry was a boys name. I think it could read something else any offers. This is 1871 census details. there seems to overwriting on her name & could read Portia however nothing shows on FreeBMD for a Portia

The additional writing could say Teresa...... could she have been known as Terry?....... although that seems a bit modern. Gwyn

Don´t think it helps but there is a Fanny born in Chelsea Fanny Diana Oates Year of Registration: 1843 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep District: Chelsea (1841-1981) County: Greater London, London, Middlesex Volume: 3 Page: 61

Gwyneth I also thought Terry than changed my mind its like looking for a needle in a haystack. I even thought if I could find some of the the names on the 1851 census her name might come to light, but cannot find them peeps either? Gwen

Elaine I just looked at the entry for Fanny Diane Oates Marriage entry and and there is a walter winslade as another entry. Do you think this could be the right one. As on the 1851 census a grandson is shown as Frederick Shade and a daughter Celiena Thade. If you look at the image it looks like it reads shade? The plot thickens? Gwen
