Do you think the name has been transcribed wrong it clearly states daughter, female But I thought Perry was a boys name. I think it could read something else any offers. This is 1871 census details. there seems to overwriting on her name & could read Portia however nothing shows on FreeBMD for a Portia

The additional writing could say Teresa...... could she have been known as Terry?....... although that seems a bit modern. Gwyn

Elaine I just looked at the entry for Fanny Diane Oates Marriage entry and and there is a walter winslade as another entry. Do you think this could be the right one. As on the 1851 census a grandson is shown as Frederick Shade and a daughter Celiena Thade. If you look at the image it looks like it reads shade? The plot thickens? Gwen
