Can any kind soul put me out of my misery? I am looking to locate service records for a couple of my great uncles, but I'm going round in circles on the National Archives site. I suspect I am putting the wrong phrase into the search engine. Hints would be good - a link would be even better. Thanks in anticipation Sheila

On the national archives site it will not show their service records, it will show medal cards, it you want service records then you will need to go to kew and search yourself or pay a researcher to do this for you. WW1 service records are not available online. don't forget that a lot of the records where destroyed in WW2 Roy

Roy Thanks for that - I had thought I might be able to search on line, get a reference and then send for them...obviously not. Back to the drawing board Sheila

Hi...it's not neccessary to go to Kew, you can write for records and costs about £30..I got a full history of my father in law. I've forgotten the address but I know someone else will have it. Cynthia
