Hi Eileen, Yes, there is always quite a lot on there. If you search under 'family history' you get different items. Kath. x |

PLEASE be careful though. I'm sure there are many bargains to be had, but I have also seen CDs being sold for more than you can buy them normally - British Isles Vital Records nearly always go for more than the LDS themselves charge!! |

You're right Lesley, and some people offer look-ups that they charge for, when you can usually get someone on this site to do them for nothing for you. Kath. x |

Did you also know that if you are registered with ebay , which is free to use unless you actually buy or sell something, you can set up 'favourite searches' to look for a keyword, and they will send you an email if anything is offered where the entry contains the keyword. So you can put in a surname or a placename, and be automatically alerted. This only works well where the keyword is reasonably uncommon, and not connected with a famous person or likely to occur in a different context. For example, if your name is Ford, you would not only get notified of lots of cars for sale, but also of postcards of places called Ford, items offered for sale to be collected from places called Ford, books by authors called Ford, etc., etc., and it would be umanageable Same sort of problem one sometimes gets with search engines like Google. UPDATE: I should have said free to use unless you buy, sell or OFFER for sale something. |
