I have came across a birth Registered in 1964 of a relative who was registered in lincoln, 3B-see D`64....What does ` see D64` mean ? Thanks,Linda.

It means look at Dec. qtr. of 1964 Kath. x

I think you need to look at the index for Q4 (D for December??) 1964. Maybe the birth was registered late (in Q4) and you are looking at the ref they would put in the correct Q for completeness. Merry

Kathleen, you are right, it was Dec 1964 but why register the same person twice, once in June qtr, then again in Dec qtr with all the same info. Linda

If the info is all the same (same name and district etc), then I'm not sure, unless they went back to the register office and added a name. This would be in the last column on the certificate where you can add a name after registration. Kath. x

Yes, as Merry said it can mean that the birth was registered late so it actually appears in the December 'book' but should have been in the June one. Kate.
