I can - GET RID OF SVEN!! - I haven't got a clue about football, but I could see they tried their best - I am 'reliably informed' that Sven played the wrong team and they didn't have a chance.!! Also, - I could see (even though I know nothing about football), that Wayne Rooney was 'set up' Anyway, this shouldn't be on here - it should be on 'General. Dea Xxx

I'm afraid I don't agree. Yes, they played better in this game, but if these 'football greats', who earn hundreds of thousands of pounds a year, can't score from the penalty spot, then they don't deserve their wages. Kath. x

Kathleen - that's probably hudreds of thusands of pounds per WEEK, not per year !!! I agree with you Dea x

I agree, underworked and over paid. Wayne Rooney £103,000 per week!!!!

Sven should count himself lucky that he is leaving. The team was rubbish, whoever he had played it would have made no difference. It is about time that their basic wages were slashed tenfold and they started to be paid on results. As for their other halfs. Has anyone read today's Mail article? It makes you feel ashamed.

I know nothing about football but logic tells me that there's something seriously wrong with English football if we need a Swedish coach for our national team! whom, hubby tells me, did a good bit of slagging off of English football when he thought he wasn't being filmed & in any case is out of a job AFTER the world cup because of it (why after?)- tell me where SVEN's motivation was for us to win?? Sarah :-)
