I've seen a couple of times over the last few days threads about name collectors where someone mentions Chris from Australia who has added loads and loads of Australian deaths. I'd like to writie in his defence I had reason to contact him with regards to a name in his tree that matched the children of a great great Aunt of mine. Chris replied and IMMEDIATELY informed me that he wasn't related to me. He is in fact part of a group in Western Australia that are recording deaths in cemetries ithat are due to be redveloped (and therefore all the graves lost). I know some memebers find him including the details on here annoying - but quite frankly I think he's doing a wonderful job. I never knew that part of my family had moved to Australia, so I would never have known to be looking their for their births and marriage. Chris has been able to supply me with a fantastic amount of detail from their burial records and I remain eternally grateful to him for this. He's NOT trying to name collect but is attempting to provide a service to preserve the information for others - much like our National Burial Index but on a smaller scale. So PLEASE refrain from including him in comments on name collectors CHeers Zoe
