Many thanks! I had a feeling it was later in the year. |

Hi Sam Quite a difficult one to find, but how about this: 2. The Electoral Register 2.1 Each year in late Summer or early Autumn, the electoral registration officer (ERO) must conduct an annual canvass to ascertain who in his area is entitled to be included on his register. A form is normally used for this purpose; either a form prescribed in regulations, or one 'to the like effect'. Until the Representation of the People Act 2000 came into force in February 2001, the qualifying date for electoral registration was 10 October in each year. From this year onwards there will be no qualifying date as such, though the canvass will be conducted by reference to residence on 15 October each year (and subject in Northern Ireland to a three months’ residence requirement). The resulting register is published on 1 December each year. www(.)dca.gov.uk/elections/ge2001/procedures/01.htm Elly |

Does anyone know which month of the year electoral roles were done in say, 1935/6 I am trying to find someone at an address but she does not appear there on the electoral role, she may have either moved on before the electoral role was taken or, in my case, perhaps used a false name..... she was over 21 so could have voted. Many thanks S |
