Mine is on tribal pages as well. I looked at the ftm weblink but they wanted full publishing rights for the tree. As people have said you can password protect tribal pages. I uploaded my gedcom from here but had to do a fair bit of editing as tribal pages has a more sophisticated family tree programme. It is very easy to upload photos and you can link them to as many people as you want. I have taken pictures of the houses my family lived in or the church they were married in which helps me follow the family. It also allows you to link anyone with anyone else on your tree - ideal for cousin marriages. I have used it to share with relatives in Australia. It has other useful features like a guestbook and the ability to add weblinks. You don't get any other advertising either or annoying E. mails. |

Mine is on Tribal Pages, too. The nice thing about is that you can, if you like, secure it with a password - so you know that only the relatives that you give the password to can view it. You can also store lots of photos on there (you are allowed one photo per person's page as a non-subscribing member. Those who subscribe get quite a vast amount of space for photos - unlimited amount for each person up to the total space allocated). I have almost 400 photos on my site and still only used up a smal percentage of my space allowance. You can customise the backgrounds and even use HTML coding to get fancier text - e.g. centre text, bold, italics etc. I think it's a brilliant. Haven't had any problems at all with it. Worth a look! |

Well, mine is on the FTM site and Im pleased with it, the front page lists all your surnames and you have your photo and image links and on each individuals page - and there is a little tree icon on each page which you click just to remind you where this person fits in. No trouble to update. |

Mine is on Tribal Pages too, and I was very impressed with it when I first saw it on there. All you have to do is send them a GEDCOM and they will load it for you and then you can add photos etc. You can put your tree on there for free but if you pay you get extra facilities. Kate. |

Yeah i have FTM, but i've tried it a couple of times and i think i have ended up confused and it doesnt look very good. Im going to take a look at someones FTM tree and see what theirs looks like. At lot of my aunts arent very computer literate, so id like it as easy as possible to use |

What programme do you use to record your family history details? Family Tree Maker has a facility whereby you can upload your data to a Home Page. You can then add photos and trees/charts/reports to the page. Its very easy to do and there is no charge for the webspace. |

Hi Susan what id really like, is to be able to put pictures, copies of any certs that i have, copies of census info and also the tree for all sides of my family both paternal and maternal. I guess what i need is a link on a front page to each family name, and then in there links to pictures and trees etc. Many thanks Robyne |

I use Legacy tree program and that makes web pages for your tree and all you need to do is upload it onto your web space. Most interest providers give you a free web site but space on it is limited. The web pages that Legacy make are good - but it becomes a problem when your tree gets big, like over a 1000 names say. Because there is then a web page made for each name and although their size may be small, it still takes forever to upload them. I now use TribalPages for my tree - much easier and faster to upload a Gedcom file and you can still add photos and notes etc. Drop me a message if you want to see my own site and my tree on TribalPages. |

Hi, i was reading FTM this week and it talks about dynamic web pages. As my family are all over the country, i would like to look into putting everything i have onto a website so they can all see it. Has anyone done this, and are there places i can see samples? Many thanks |
