I used to use Lewes Records Office regularly. It's a small and very helpful place and they fall over themselves to help but sometimes they get really busy especially at this time of year. You're best bet is to ring them. They are usually really good and will update you on how far ahead your order is even if it hasn't reached the post stage yet. Sheila

I'd chase them up. If they've cashed the cheques they should have sent the goods. I've found other record offices do state how long you need to wait, but they don't cash cheques until they've done the work. nell

I asked the East Sussex Records Office in Lewes if they could send me a copy of an inquest which I saw the details of on the website A2A. They took a few weeks to respond, sending me a quotation and asking me to sign the form and send it back with a cheque. I did this a couple of weeks ago, cheques been cashed and I have yet to receive a copy of the inquest papers. Has anyone else used this service and had to wait this long?
