You can search for overseas marriages on 1837online. (pay per view) They are free on Family Relatives if you already subscribe, but the site has not been working the last two days :o(( Merry

Google OIOC, the Oriental and Indian Office Collections. It is a department of the British Library and I found them extremely helpful when I emailed my enquiry. They even sent me photocopies of the marriage records. Jim

Hi can anyone please help i have a relative i cant find in the 1881 census his name was John Hagger he married Julia i dont know her maiden name she was born in india in 1862 do you think he may of met her there and married i cant find a wedding anywhere in england they settled in Woolwich and started a family in 1885 . is there such a thing as a marriage index for british marriges in india think may be John could of been serving in the army out there. thanks Angela
