Can anyone tell me if a child is adopted, is the birth registered under the birth name & then again under their adopted name? Or just under one or the other? Thanks in advance, Nikki |

Just under the birth name. There is no index of 'before and after' names. The adopted name does not appear in the GRO index. There have been a few threads about this i will try and find one and nudge for you. Glen |

I have nudged a thread 'Adoption Q's please help' It has the answer to your question,if it slips down the board just enter 'adoption q's' in the thread search. Glen |
