Goodness, Fuzzy, you could be related to me! (And several others on the site). PM me, and wait till I get in tonight. My Boxall stuff only goes up to the 1820s, but it is the Shalford/Wonersh/Dunsfold/Chiddingfold area. |

What does the relationship say - I mean is it son or visitor or bro? Where is this bunch? Does dads job match with a marriage cert? What about this mob, it says Kent, but as far as I know Ewell has always been Surrey? Looks like Grasshaven or something for his place of birth? Here we go again!! This must be the same man, as all the children are the same on the census returns…… some of you may remember me looking for his marriage still no luck with that! Where to look for him at home though. 1871 census George Boxall 1838 born in childenfold (don’t think this place exists) surrey. 1881 census George Boxall 1841 born in Chalford (think they mean shalford) surrey, which is on Guildford’s door step! 1891 census George Boxall 1841 born in Guildford and there is a ? after it surrey found a George Boxall born in 1843 in Shalford, but he is not mine as he is on the 1871 census still at home whereas my George is with his now “wife” and family. Heather kindly found a George Boxhall in the 1861 visiting in St George Southwark with his mother Sarah Boxhall he was born in Guilford (they mean Guildford) On more investigation think this must be my George as he doesn’t seem to exist in the Boxhall spelling on the next two census returns. With this information I went back to the 1851 census and thought I had struck gold with George Boxall at home with mother Sarah born about the same time as the one in the 1871 census and father John and brother William, only problem is George is down as being born in 1829…..!!!! Any help much appreciated Fuzzy xx |
