Is there any method for a Canadian, of reviewing Lancashire Catholic parish records that were not microfilmed by the LDS (short of crossing the pond)?

Try contacting th Catholic Diocese for Lancs, which is probably Liverpool. Most of the Catholic Diocese have an Archivist

Rene The Catholic Church refused to give the LDS permission to film any of their records, so the sources for these are only those given above. OC

Not quite true. Some RC records have been filmed such as 1729-1909 Catholic Church. Westminster Cathedral (Westminster)

Also, St Mary's RC at Cresswell in Staffs have been filmed too. Very few have been filmed though. The one above is the only one I have found that I needed. One RC church in York wont let anyone look at the registers either. You can pay for someone else to do it. I did, and her typing was that bad I couldnt read most of it. Looked like she had used a typewriter that had been produced when they were first invented. Margaret
