Hi again Ann, I messed around a little more with the free search on SP for you and that Thomas Butterworth is in Shetland on the 1891 - just thought you would like to know! kind regards Barbara

Thanks, Betty. Could well be him, but he should have been in Cupar! His son Thomas Stuart was born there in 1889 and another son Henry Carter (my grandfather) was born there in 1892. Strange he doesn't show up on the free search! This is a blank spot for me....some time between 1881 and 1888, he left Witton, Cheshire and went to Scotland where he met and married Henrietta Gordon Munro (probably in Keith, Bamffs where she was born in 1861). The family lived in Cupar until 1899.

Hi Ann, I do have credits for Scorlandspeople but the time has run out on them. I did check the whole of Scotland for a Thomas Butterworth and there is one who is 29years of age in Scotland, don't know what area though!! This maybe could be him?? not sure though. Betty

I don't have any credits left on Scotland's People - but tried the free search for your Thomas Butterworth in Cupar on 1891 and no results were returned. kind regards Barbara
