I am going cross eyed looking for this marriage. If I find it, it will help me smash down a brick wall. I have searched on Freebmd, but nothing. I have also searched from 1913 up until 1930 on Ancestry. I have looked on every quarter of those years, but nothing. I have a sinking feeling it is on a quarter that is missing. ie 1925 Q4 or 1913 Q4 . It might be as simple as me needing to look earlier that 1913. I have very little to go on, but here are the details. I have also looked on familysearch Polly Pimm married Alf Carlos. Now, I have a feeling that Polly wasn't her real name, so I have searched for an Alf or Alfred Carlos marrying a Pimm. She would have been born in Birmingham around the late 1880's to 1890's. Maybe even 1900 ish. I imagine her to have got married around the time WWI or no later than the 20's. It would have been in the Birmingham area. I know this is not much to go on, but would be grateful for any help whatsoever. I am trying to find out as much as I can so that I can tell my Great Aunt who is in hospital at the moment. This was all the information she could give me and I know she would love to know what happened to her Aunt Polly. I have a feeling I haven't got much time to find out for her. Mandy XX

Polly is often short for Margaret, so this one is a possibility. Do you know if Polly had a sister? 1901 Martha Fisher abt 1874 West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England Servant Edgbaston Warwickshire Arthur Pimm abt 1861 Harborne, Staffordshire, England Head Edgbaston Warwickshire Eleanor D Pimm abt 1888 Birmingham, Warwickshire, England Daughter Edgbaston Warwickshire Kate Pimm abt 1860 Birmingham, Warwickshire, England Wife Edgbaston Warwickshire Margaree G Pimm abt 1891 Birmingham, Warwickshire, England Daughter Edgbaston Warwickshire Janice

Well, it isn't 1925 Q4, as I just looked at that on Family Relatives. There are several Pimm marriages but not the one you want :o(( Merry

Pimm and Carlos are both unusual surnames so you could search for any marriage with that pair of names. Spouses' names are given from 1912 on so it shouldn't be too arduous. I've checked those missing quarters under Pimm but there are no matches. Good luck, Janice

Have found an Alfred Carlos on free BMD Alfred Carlos Year of Registration: 1905 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Burnley County: Lancashire, West Riding Of Yorkshire Volume: 8e Page: 275 If this is your one it would suggest a marriage in the late 1920¨s(or later)

There is no Pimm/Carlos marriage before 1920 -have checked it on Family Relatives which is fully searchable on surname for that period.

Many thanks for all you very quick replies. You have certainly given me some leads to follow. Yep, you would think it would be easy with the surnames Pimm and Carlos wouldn't you? Mandy XX

What do you think? Following on that Polly could be a Mary or Mary Anne, I seached for a Mary Ann Pimm marriage on Freebmd and came up with the following Dec 1907 6d 663 aston marriage Mary Ann Pimm There is an Alfred Carless on the same page! Ok so it's not Carlos, but my Aunt could have got it wrong I know the dates don't fit what my Aunt told me, but she cold have been wrong, couldn't she?
