Could somebody please be kind enough to look up 1901 census on Arthur E Davis (wife Amelia) born 1850 Bloomsbury and tell me what they think his job was. I have looked at 1891 and thought it said Souphouse manager, but i am not so sure on looking at 1901 that i am correct. Hope he was - i have never had one of those before!! Maureen

Jean or JeSS could i please be a pain and ask if you could look at 1891. it definelty says Church of England so maybe scripture reader could be nearer the mark maureen

The 1891 census definitely says Scripture Reader and Preacher - Church of England. Kath. x

Thanks everyone!! Think i had better visit specsave!! No soup - never mind, i have never had a preacher either he must have been the 'black sheep' if you could call a preacher that, rest of the clan were working in the docks Maureen
