Right!!! :o/ I've got my g.g.g.Auntie down as having a son called John Sunderland born 1883. He appears on the census info in 1891 as living in shropshire with his Mum, Dad was up in yorkshire as the town postman, and his Auntie. But then he appears in the 1901 census as living with 3 people called Marshall, Robert, head, Eliza, Wife and Bertha, daughter, all as Marshall and John but hes showing as SON even though hes a Sunderland!?!?! Johns Dad (John Sunderland Snr) did have a sister called Eliza who would be the right age. Has the Census persony thingy ma jig just assumed that he was the son or have they taken him on at some point since him being with Mum aged 9 in 1891? Can anyone help shed any light or any suggestions? Thank you very much |

quite possibly he's recorded as son by mistake. Where are his parents in 1901? nell |

oh even more confused now! lol John snr is still up north as town postman but ive found mum lucy still in shropshire with her 9 year old son John?!?!? He was born in 1883 so wouldnt have been 9 in 1901 would he? hmmmmm think its time for bed! lol |

In case you're still with us, where were these people born? I can't see a John Sunderland in Shropshire in 1891............is the name mistranscribed? Reg |

There are two Lucy Sunderlands in 1901 with Shropshire connections ONE Matilda Endley abt 1868 Wellington, Shropshire, England Sister Wellington Shropshire View Record John Lloyd abt 1874 Leeds Lodger Wellington Shropshire View Record John H Sunderland abt 1892 Todmorden, Yorkshire, England Son Wellington Shropshire View Record Lucy Sunderland abt 1866 Elerdine, Shropshire, England Head Wellington Shropshire TWO Felrus Sunderland abt 1870 Keighley, Yorkshire, England Head Keighley Yorkshire View Record Felrus Sunderland abt 1900 Keighley, Yorkshire, England Son Keighley Yorkshire View Record Lucy Sunderland abt 1870 Bourton, Shropshire, England Wife Keighley Yorkshire There is one in 1891............
