Margaret By the period you are talking of, maintenance orders were administered by Magistrates Courts, or sometimes Petty Sessions. You need to find the records of Magistrates Courts (difficult) or Petty Sessions. OC |

If you use this link to the national archives, then in the search box enter the name of the person or bastardy bonds and you will get some results. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/search/quick_search.aspx?javascriptenabled=True&searchtext= their is another thread on the board with some good tips about this title is Bastardy Bonds - any info???? Could one of you oh so knowledgeable people please advise me if there are any sites which cover bastardy bonds/maintenance orders for the period 1862/4. I am attempting to find the father of my gt granddad. Thanks a lot regards Margaret |
